"I chose this hotel because it is close to the beach where my son lives...not for shopping, airport access, etc. I you wanted to go to the zoo across the street, or the beach down the block it was good; and it is very close to catch the Muni to take downtown. Otherwise, you would want to stay closer to downtown San Francisco where the shows, shopping and restaurants are...the Wharf, North Beach, Union Square, etc. areas. One GREAT greasy spoon called John's Ocean Beach diner down the way...fab omelets. Otherwise you'd have to take the Muni to most places."
