"I tend to stay in B&B atmosphere's whenever I can, it just softens the stay away from home. The MI was a nice alternative to a major chain hotel, and very convenient to the convention I was at. The issue of parking was really squirrely. If they had been upfront and direct about it when I phoned the first two times, perhaps I wouldn't have been so frustrated when I arrived. I finally went over to the Star Motel directly as each time the agent at the desk phoned "they were always full". And the agent at the star motel didn't quote the $20 a night that the agent at the MI did...which makes me wonder who bests benefits from their arrangement? The maid service was exceptional. Very clean each night, though I thought the carpet was in dire need of shampooing or a major clean of some kind. The beds were very comfortable, and I enjoyed the visit from that perspective. The breakfast room is quaint for the purpose it serves. I'd stay there again when I plan to attend the convention in 2005...the rate of $105 was fair enough given SF...as that is based on double occupancy, and I was a single individual, would like to see some price break for that...how is it my two colleagues shared a room and got a $95 rate? The Marina Inn has 40 rooms with English country pine furniture and floral wallpaper. Each room has a queen bed, private bath, telephone and TV. Enjoy each morning with a complimentary continental breakfast including muffins, juice, tea and coffee. The Inn is an easy walk to fine shopping, restaurants, Fisherman's Wharf and Waterfront Parks. The Marina Inn was voted the best value for your money in the "New York Times". All rooms are non-smoking.
