Ramada Plaza Downtown San Francisco is located within walking distance of many attractions, as well as the BART station (making virtually the entire Bay Area accessible). It is approximately 12 miles from the airport. For the recreationally inclined, there is fitness center with modern equipment nearby (passes are available through the hotel). There are dining options in the vicinity, or guests can take meals at the hotel's restaurant or coffee shop (adjacent to the lobby). Room service is available. BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) trains, MUNI (Municipal Transportation) trains, buses, and vintage Cable Cars put San Francisco's most popular attractions with easy reach. At the front door, on Market Street, are the world famous restored historic trolleys, which go to Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39, and Ghiradelli Square. Just three blocks away is the San Francisco Shopping Center, which houses Nordstrom's. Three blocks from the hotel (on Powell Street) is Union Square. Stores such as Macy's, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman-Marcus, and FAO Schwartz are located at or near this city park. The Financial District is a ten-minute train-ride from the hotel. Adjacent to the Financial District and on the far side of Union Square from the hotel is Chinatown, which is just a 20- to 30-minute walk. Each room has air-conditioning, AM/FM clock radio, and cable television. Hairdryers and irons are available at the front desk. Non-smoking and handicapped-accessible rooms are available.
